there is a little rubber hose that attached to the air intake tube on the bottom on the passegenr side from the two 8mm bolts that went into a little box that was on the drivers dide valve cover and on the new coupler there is no place to reattach this hose what is it for and can you just leave it open?
That "doghouse" on top of the valve cover is the Crankcase Vent (CCV) box, and the elbow coming out of it leads into the PLASTIC connector piece that the 8mm bolts go into and attach to the bracket. The ATS intake pipe slides over this plastic connector, but the elbow does not attach to the rubber pipe. Remember to attach the green small hose to the intake pipe when you are near finishing up. It is a good time to attach a hose to that small elbow, and route those CCV gasses away from the engine back on the framerail somewhere. It prevents that oily goo from going in the engine, intercooler, intake boots and popping the boots off. Then replace that plastic connector with a piece of 4" exhaust piping, and then remove that bracket.
Don't have any pics of the installation process, but do have a few of what it looks like when it's done: http://rides.webshots.com/album/550023161EhGKoH
I think they're mostly on the second page in that album...
