The problem is, there ARE people stupid enough to buy that cell phone trick. Folks who get all of their technical knowledge from "CSI"...

I'm not stupid... but I have a Viper 791xv alarm system on my truck, and I tried that cell phone trick because it sounded so incredibly ridiculous. I only have one remote... so I got about 20 miles away from the truck and called my dad who sat his phone right on the top of the window where the alarm receiver is and I pushed the button to unlock on the 791 remote AND... to my dismay, it worked. I can also remote start my truck through it... bad news is that I only have one remote, so if it's locked in there no hope for me. It's really freaky and I immediately discredited it as soon as I heard it, but after becoming bored enough to try it... it actually worked.
