FUEL TANK SIZE?????
I have a 1985 Bronco XLT...........does anyone or can anyone confirm what size it is?.........its fitted between the frame rails and has a metal skid plate around it. Some say 19 gallons, but Im not sure. Ive decided to run it past E, always filled up at E and got 12 gallons in her. any help would be appreciated. I need to know

FUEL TANK SIZE?????
Ive got a 1985 full-size Bronco XLT since new, fuel tank is 32 gallons. The gauge goes to empty after about 50 miles or so - the float in the tanks of these models get holes or something in them so they sink in the tank. I'm been debating about putting a new one in, just haven't got the time to mess with it. Hope this helps!

If the tank has a skid plate and the bottom is well below the frame rails its 32 gallons, if it has no skid plate and is almost level to just slightly below the frame rails its about 22-25 gallons. I think Ford stopped putting the 25 gallon tank in the broncos around 85-86.

It does sit mostly below the frame itself......it does have a steel skid plate around it. My owners manual,(yes, its actually good for something) states that the my gas tank is a 32. I'll have to see what happens from here on out. Thanks for all the input.
