If these are the chrome clad wheels, small amounts of brake dust seem to do permanent damage to the so called chrome.
I've got them on my 07 and already have signs of problems, plus already replaced one set on the wife's 04 NBX Expy and replaced the factory crappy pads with Raybestos. Still can see damage.
Just commenting, that with these wheels it's almost a lost cause.
For some models in the 04 and 05 range there is a TSB for front brake shudder. They replace the rotors, calipers and pads on some, or just the pads on others. Mine is getting new rotors, pads and calipers. Im waiting till the last possible month to get it done so I will have free front brakes good till around 75K or better. I can afford to wash the car in the driveway once in awhile.
Oh darn, I had an axle seal leak last week too and they had to replace the rear pads.... darn I hate warranties!

Good luck
S.O.S. pads are your friend. The only thing I have found that works. I thought the braked dust had damaged my chrome clad wheels as well, but it was just that the metallics in the brake dust had baked onto my wheel. Take a wet S.O.S. pad and lightly rub the chrome clad and it comes right off, no scratches, and the wheels look brand new. I did this from approx 3000 miles to 26000 miles and the wheels still look great. I just replaced them with some FX4 wheels just beacuse I like those wheels better, but my chrome clad ones always looked great because of the S.O.S. pads.

I have seen 04's,05's and 06's with tons of breakdust especially on 04' f-150 and expeditions but I guess I have been lucky with my new 07' there is brakedust but after 600miles of city driving its just a light coating...i'm a car detailer on the side and use a product called Rejex on the wheels when my wheels are dirty all that is needed is some soapy water and a microfiber and they are back to like new
I need to change pads and have rotars turned on my 04. I have done front pads and rear drum brakes many times but never rear disk. Do the rear disk come off different than the front and how do the rear rotars come off?
i have the lariat wheels which look like they have clear coat on them i don't know for sure but i was wondering if the sos pads should be used on them to get the black spots off ,washing and waxing will not remove them all thanks
