downpipe
i was woundering how big the down pipe is on my 06 6.0. I think it is 3.5 in, but iam not sure. I would like ot put a full trubo back exhaust system on but i have been told that if i go with a bigger down pipe that 3.5 in it will crack do to the tourqe of the engine and the fire wall. so i am trying to find away around this, if someone could help me that would be great.

The stock down pipe is 3.5 inches. However, the stock unit is flatened out a little. You can get an aftermarket TB exhaust that has a 3.5 downpipe but it isn't flatened like the stocker so you still get better flow (like MBRP). If you step up to a 4 inch DP, you may have clearance issues with your firewall. It varies from truck to truck. Some have no clearance issues while others do. Also, if you step up to a 4 inch DP, you'll lose some low end torque. I wouldn't bother with a 4 inch DP unless I was going to run a tuner at its higher setting. My $.02.
