Trying to decide whether to get 33x12.50x15 or 33x11.50x15. I know that the 12.50's will rub the radius arms, but does anyone know if the 11.50's will? This is for my 89 with no lift and factory wheels.

32x11.50 rub when cut all of the way. These are on an 88 with 7" wheels. Hope that helps.

I have a 1988 Bronco, no lift, using stock 15" rims (I think that they are 8.5" wide, but I can't recall for sure).

About 1 1/2 years ago I replaced the stock tires. I didn't like the looks of the Bronco with small stock tires, and I wanted tires that would continue to fit my chains. I went with 31x10.50 R15, with the expectation that they would not rub on the radius arm. I was wrong, they did rub when you cranked the steering over (any more than 2 1/2 revolutions in either direction).

In reality, this radius arm rub is not a big issue for me... I don't think that I have significantly reduced that turning radius, but I'm not sure... I am not sure if I have got used to the "WOW" of turning her around in tight quarters, or if the turning radius was reduced to a "wow"... And in the winter, when I have all 4 tires in chains, I'm still very happy with how she performs in the snow.

I'm running 31's now with no probs. Never rubs the radius arms. Kinda surprised that yours do. Never heard of that with 31's before.

I have BFG all terrain 31/10.50's and they dont rub at all. My rims are american racing wheels and the backspacing might be different then your stock rims causing yours to rub. different rims with less backspacing shouldnt rub. just my 2 cents.Mine turns on a dime, better then my car I love it.

Later fellas

I had no problems on my 94 with 32X11.50's on stock alloy rims. If you are hitting the radius arms. It is caused by the offset of your rims and more lift will not cure this problem.

I JUST NOW GOT BACK FROM THE SHOP. I HAD BEEN RUNNING 31X10.50X15 TIRES. I HAVE A 3" SUSPENSION LIFT AND THEY RUBBED. I JUST PUT 33X12.50X15 AND THEY RUB TOO. THE TIRE GUY TOLD ME THAT THE ONLY WAY TO FIX THIS PROBLEM IS TO GET NEW RIMS WITH A BIG OFFSET. NO MATER HOW MUCH LIFT YOU HAVE THEY WILL STILL RUB ON THE RADIUS ARMS.

85 XLT 5.0 33X12.50X15 BFG ALL TERRAIN KO'S

These tires can take the abuse of hitting rocks on the side walls and being bashed around. When they rub a little on the radius arm is not going to mess the tire up. It also actually makes a nice little clean area on the radius arm. I had 32x11.50x15 bfg mudders on my 88 and it only rubbed on the right radius arm. No big deal.

I have the sollution for all of you that rub. I have a 92 with a 4" Rancho Lift running 33-12.5's. Mine doesn't rub one bit. When the lift was installed they backed out the steering stop bolt specifically so the tire would not rub off the red paint on the trailing arms. This Bronco doesn't have the awesome tight turn that my 84 with no lift had, but it also doesn't rub...

I have had 33X12.5's for about 4 years now, I just replaced them and went to 8" rims with a better offset and now they don't rub. However the only time they rubbed before was at full tilt minus about 2" on the steering.

About the same here. My 87 has 8" rims that did not rub with the 11.5 but do slightly with the 12.5's. Stock handling package.

Does anyone here use them (or know someone who does) and tell me the pros or cons of it. I just got the 33x12.5 BFG AT's and I don't know if I'm gonna be able to deal with the radius arm deal. It shakes the whole damn truck when they rub. I love the look of the tires and I'm NOT taken'em off. So my next question is have any of you made your own? I have access to a machine shop and may want to make some. Compared to the price of adapters I've seen, I believe I could make'm alot cheaper.

I decided to just adjust the steering stops instead. I still have some rub when going forward but not when backing up at full turn of the wheel. What do I need to look for to fix this?
