Electric choke Questions

I am trying to hook up my electric choke after who knows how long. I believe the wire is white with a black stripe and connects to the altenator or regulator on a white with blk stripe wire. Does this sound correct?

Also, I Thought the Choke cover where the wire plugs into, is a heater. If so would it not have a set ohms of resistance, when measured to ground. Currently, I have two covers (with the bimetelic coil spring inside), and both read 'Open' ( no continuity) from terminal to ground. Are they both bad? If known what should the Resistance be

I thought about asking this in the 289-302-351W forum, but I thought that the wiring being specific to a body style.

They are grounded by the mtal tab to the choke housing via the hold down

The wire goes to the stator connection on the alternator.

I posted an illustration on this thread.
