Beefing up! INjectors headstuds......

Well im deciding what i want to do, I want to get stage 1 injectors, headstuds, fuel system, fluidamper(????? Spelling)and suncoast tranny! The deciding factor is going to be reliability, i know it sounds akward to say reliability with those mods but i want to know what you think... It is a straight up and down worktruck that i want to have some fun with, I put alot of miles on my truck and some with a 10k trailor, i need to haul and drive. What else could go wrong after those mods???? Am i pretty safe????Anyone else running this setup?

You can read my sig to see what I'm running. She's a daily driver that pulls 8500lbs. several times a summer. The studs, injectors and fuel system were just put on in December, but no real issues as of yet other than it's WAY too fun to drive now. lol

Suggestion #1: get some good Silicone Hump hoses and Connectors for the CAC tubes and some good T-Bolt clamps. I found mine all on eBay and they are way better than what came with the Banks Intercooler. Also, tighten all the clamps once a month unless you like sitting on the side of the road putting a CAC tube back on.

Suggestion #2: buy some spare Silicone Hump Hoses and Connectors and T-Bolt Clamps if you travel away from home and keep the neccessary tools with you to fix or change one out if neccessary. It's bad to have to get towed to a station and let them fix one and charge you for all that. It's just too simple to do yourself.

The mods are definatly a good insurance policy. My suggestion is that you make sure to have your heads checked for flatness when its down. THe block should be checked as well, but your not going all out, so i will suffice to just do the heads. If you are going to do it yourself, make sure you put plenty of lubricant (I prefer lubriplate assembly lube) on the studs and nuts, including the shoulder of the nut and washer.

6L PWR - Sorry for the simple questions but ...... I measured the hoses at 3.5 inch diameter so I assume this is what to specify w/ the ebay seller. Which one is the hump hose and which one is the CAC connector hose? The blue hose nearest the radiator is wire re-inforced. Does the ebay supplier have these wire wrapped kind or are they not needed? I could not find them on his website (you had posted on a previous thread).

Don't ever apologize for a question. I wasn't born knowing stuff. I've just done alot of research and asked alot of questions on here. This site is GREAT for this stuff.

The following links are from the sellers I purchased from. I am happy with what I received from them and their service.

Hump Hose (These allow a bit more flexibility in the connection, to be used where the CAC connects to the Intercooler as the Intercooler is hard mounted and the engine is allowed movement):

Connector Hose (Not very flexible, to be used where the CAC connects to the intake elbow):

T-Bolt Clamps (From a different seller, but the ones I purchased):

Oh baby, a bunch.

Nope, stock is barely big enough for stock. The Return Regulated Fuel System will assure him that he doesn't starve an injector which can hurt them. The fuel lubricates them.

Help keep it all together and smooth it out.

I just bought the silicone hump hose and connector hose (3.5 inch) from the ebay store below:
http://stores.ebay.com/Extreme-Turbo-Systems

This was the store that 6L PWR recommended. They were great to deal with and I would recommend them in a heartbeat.

I also bought the T-bolt clamps from the store below (a little more $'s than others, but a great store also).

Can't believe I forgot this ........

Thanks 6L PWR - great advice. With yourself and MANY others participating, this site is great to keep folks from learning the hard way! I am actually anxious for my warranty to expire so I can start putting on some of the great add-ons in your signature. So easy to get CRAZY over these trucks!

You're very welcome. I love this site too. I've only owned this truck a year and have learned most everything from others on this site!

If you haven't read yet, it's called PMS. Powerstroke Mod Sydrome. It's very expensive, but it'll put a permanent smile on your face!!

Just an FYI- Remember the other saying, You gotta PAY to play. Means, when you start modifying, stuff IS gonna break. I've been having great luck so far, but I do have a spare engine, transmission and transfer case that I got a great deal on sitting in my buddies shop just in case. It's a 2004 pulled from a totalled truck and still runs.

You can also look at it this way, pay now or pay later. While paying now is a little expensive, it pales in compairison to paying later.
