IC boots

ok guys..with a 165k on my truck and the IC boots look original.. I feel its time to get some new ones...mine are a little soft and look tired...it seems the early 99 boots are 250 bucks from diesel site...bob is a great guy and will always get stuff from him..but what's the advantage of his boots over stock other then lasting longer?? is there a performance advantage?I think I can get stock ones cheaper then his..I'm not looking for the boots too last for ever cause I want to up grade my turbo after I do the HPOP and inj...thanks guy's

Other than lasting longer, looking good, and being oil resistant (if you haven't done the CCV) no real difference. If you are looking for a temp fix till you do the turbo check with Ed at Millennium Ford http://www.trademotion.com/storefron...&siteid=214072

Probably need to call I never could find the boots on the site.

Bob's boots are made of a different material (very stiff) and longer to accomadate double clamping. Plus they come with new clamps. They are nice...steep $ but nice.

Have you checked into BDP for there Dominator 66? It is a straight bolt on for an early 99 and is suppose to be comparable to a H2E. It looks like the cheapest route for an early 99 or obs. http://www.beansdieselperformance.com/99-03turbo.htm

scroll to the bottom of the page.

The ones i have from Dieselsite are 2-3 times as thick as the stock boots. No chances of puncturing, they have been tested to 100+ psi so i have heard. I do not have the ones for the intercooler connections, but i have the other four.

I would get injectors first. That is a very large turbo to spool up with small early 99 injectors. I would run at least 180cc's with that turbo if it were me.

I wouldn't think surge would be an issue. You can change the housing size I believe. I haven't seen a lot of 99 guys with it yet. It is a pretty big hit with the obs psd. Might want to ask in there forum. This and the H2E are (same as early 99 as far as options) the only two I believe were they don't have to swap out pedistals and other junk.

$250 for a set of regular intercooler boots? I thought they were usually pretty cheap.
