rebuilt trans with a b&m hd shift kit.
3" body lift and 35 inch tires
just picked ip up this winter and the motor thats in it i took out of my 87 Lincoln mark VII LSC need a motor was in a pinch so used it.
any way that motor is gonna be goling back into the mark as soon as i get the body done. so I'm thining of putting a deisel into the bronco. i seen one for sale on ebay that had the swap done. has anyone here done it? just looking for info on what is compadable between the two set ups. thanks
Get a whole parts truck . The 5000 small parts will kill you. Wiring is different. trans ,x-fer case is different . etc. The difference in wieght of my non diesel F250 reg and a diesel f250 was 398 lbs. Throw a plow on front and its about same weight. Use heavy F350 2x4 Dually front coil springs. Your rear 8.8 May hold up long time if you put around. But it won't like the grunt of the diesel (if wasn't for speed sensor you could put 9"rear in. They do havelkits to do that though. ). Best case is put F250 or F350 this would be a strait front axle suspention in your rig. There have been several posts about this check around. Give the diesel forum guys a post and see what they say. Keep us posted.
thanks for the info. this proably wont be happening right away. but i want to get as much info as i can be for i decide for sue that this is the way to go.
bolt in a 5.8. its a direct swap and will give you the power and still get decent mileage. the deisal swap would consist of 1ton running gear and boxing the frame. not to mention all of the wiring work. i have not seen anyone on here do it. but do a search on google for cummins bronco swap or something to that nature. took the guy 8months and had an entire wrecking yard to his disposal.
