I recently came across a 32v 4.6 out of a 96 mark VIII, The price is right for the motor, and it is out of a MArk VIII LSC, so I believe that it is rated at 290 HP. I was wondering if it would be feasible to swap the Engine in my 97 EB 4x4 which is also a 4.6 16v for the 32v 4.6. The engine in my expy now has 150,000 on it but still runs good, but I know that an engine change/ or rebuild is on the way, Just wondering what you guys thought about this
You may want to think about whether this engine is right for your Expy or not. I recently sold my 96 Mark VIII LSC with the 32v InTech. While that car really screamed, it wasn't until about 4500 rpm that the power came on. But it was strong then until about 6-6500.
Not sure it that would be all that great in 6000lb truck?
Then again it may still have more power at lower RPM then your current engine and be better overall? I don't really know, something to think about...
How in the world did you get a 4.6 in an Eddie Bauer? Just wondering.... The EB has all the bells and whistles including the 5.4 as standard equipment in 97.
I just bought the truck a few months ago, It seems to have just about every option except the 5.4(which after reading all the posts about the oil leaks im glad it dosent have) and the 4wheel air suspension, I guess someone ordered it that way. Not really sure, anyway, after some more research, I have decided that after all the crap you would have to go through PCM swap and all That it isnt worth it. Think I am just gonna save up for a s/c, Probably have about the same amount of power
