I have a 1997 with 153,000 miles, I am getting the dreaded EGR flow insuffecient error. I plan to tackle this next weekend. I read someones post reguarding changing the plugs while it is apart, and I am wondering about the twine tip, to pull the boots off?
Welcome to the forum.
I am assuming that you have a 5.4L? For info on changing plugs on a 4.6L and 5.4L read here https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ark-plugs.html
This is a very good how-to written by a Ford mechanic (Thanks Dave).
As for the code, 85% of the time, it is a bad DPFE (egr pressure) sensor. But with 153,000 miles on it, the EGR ports could be clogged.
