Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
First; thanks for the welcome and sorry for being so slow to reply. Life is busy and the 'search threads for info' is time consuming. Been doing a lot of reading before I get started on any truck upgrades. Very informative and entertaining board.
Nothin' to it but to do it so I'll jump in.
uh... lessee... intros. OK. I'm on the east side near Richland (but out in the county where people aren't so close). Live on a little patch-of-earth next to the Yakima. Been with the same very patient girl for 35 years. Daughters are grown and moved out.
Toys? Hmmm. Well the userid is not very original but I have two grey F250s. An '85 that has been a work horse around here for what seems like forever. I put a new long block in it at 235k and then added another 40k miles before I finally broke down and bought an '06, 6.0L F250 SD last summer. I still use the ugly old '85 hard but it rarely leaves the property. I haven't junked it yet cuz the 460ci still works, the Warn rattles and groans but it still pulls and the dang thing just won't roll over and die.
The '06 is putting the gooseneck to the test hauling horses and other large and heavy stuff. Have made a couple of relatively long pulls to Sacremento and through Montana down to Challis, Ideeho. I could get spoiled driving this truck

Plans for the '06: The Firestone rear Air Bags should arrive next week. The front 5100s supposed to ship from Shockwarehouse on the 3rd. I plan on getting the heavier front coil springs (maybe this weekend) from Ford. The wife and I will spend the weekend on the Oregon coast before stopping in Newberg, OR to pick up the Buckstop winch bumper on the 15th. My MM SE9500C is already wired up and ready to install. Uh, you might have guessed, I been thinking about some of this for a little while and, like I said, the wife is very patient with me.
Mercuries are Fords too, right? Wife drives an '04 Marquis. I also drive a '68 Cougar that I did a ground up, bare-metal restore on a few years ago. There's some things I'd do different but, hey, it was a first complete project for me and it was fun.
The shop is cluttered with a disassembled '50 F1 that may or may not ever get finished. After I stripped and primered the cab, things got busy.
Been reading some on this sub board, too.
Hope Tricky's wife is doing well in Seattle hospital. The worry must be hell for him. Bless the hands that treat her.
Liz, congrats on the new job. Be careful up there. Nothing casual about working at heights and your safety. "Hook in... check it... check it again".
This is getting long so better shutup and hit send.
thx, again.
