Im thinking of putting some 33/12.5 15 tires on my ride. Will these tires fit on the stock wheels(rims) of a 91 Bronco? Also will they fit without a lift? Two more question, what kind of gas mileage should I expect with the larger tires and how much will it effect everyday driving and performance? Sorry so many questions. I dont want to order tires that I really cant use or cant live with. Please reply. Curious minds want to know.
assuming that my 89 wheels are the same as yours, 33x12.5 will fit with minor rubing on the radius arms at full turn, otherwise go for it. It's hard to say about the mileage because the largher tires will make your odometer and spedometer a little bit off (slower and less miles than actual) so it might look like you're getting worse mileage, but in fact it might be just as good or even better. It just depends. As far as performance, that also depends on what type of tires you get. Mud swampers will obviously not do too well as a daily driver, so an agressive A/T is a good bet. I have Yokohama Geolander II A/T Radial's and I love them! Great off-road tread, good price and good performance on and off road. Good luck. Take a look at my gallery for a good picture of the tire tread.
I put 33x12.50's on stock 8" rims and it pulled the outside and inside edges of the tire off the road, about an inch on either side. Went to 10"rims and no problem now. Go to Superford.org and it will give you a place where you can calculate the difference in the speed. If my spedometer is reading 55 I am actually doing 62.86 with the 33x12.50's. Hope this helps.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 31-Aug-02 AT 01:45 PM (EST)]Watch out if you hit a big bump you might smash your finder. i wouldn't go with anything abouvt a 32 10.5 or maybe a 12.5 on a stock rig its just not worth missing up the body.
