i own a 93 f-250 standard cab.today ,i went under the truck to see why it was leaning.turns out the rear mount rusted then broke.my question is i dont know if there is enough good material left to weld?wanted to know if someone out there has a parts truck that i can get that part?
We did both the shackle and hangers in Dad's 95 x-cab 4x4 in a weekend...would have had it in one day but the parts counter was closed by the time we noticed we needed new bolts. I think the whole project was about 100 bucks. Grind out the rivets and replace with the grade 8 bolts that come with the kit. Then it's all new and much safer than welding. From what I gather this is a common repair on our vintage of tricks.

Thisis a fairly common problem, and most dealers stock the mounts and shackles. On mine the bolts were rusted into the shackles so bad that I replaced them, too. All the parts, both sides came to about 180 bux.
Why get a used one? YOu can buy new from yoru ford dealer. I think the mount is about 58 bucks a side.
You could also try a spring shop. The aftermarket parts outfits are making good quality hangers. Both the dealers and the spring shops around here stock them.
As far as used goes by the time you remove it from the donor truck, clean it up and install it you would be further ahead with new.
I need to do mine as well. I think I'll just use a sawzall on either side of the shackel. Then the bolt should just fall out. Replace with new bolts and bushings if needed.

I am quite experienced with a torch, and very skilled with it, if I do say so myself.
That said-I'd rather just use my 4" grinder on mine, and I don't have any gas leaks- DO NOT USE A TORCH IN YOUR SITUATION!!!!!
I was able to get my old bolts out of my shackles where they bolt on to the springs, but not when they bolted to the hanger, and believe me, I tried a LOT of things, including a very strong impact trying to get the bolt to turn- it wasn't happening. Just bite the bullet and replace them.
