If you where to blueprint bolt on mods for the 6.0L how would it look? I'd like for the blueprints to stay 335-400 HP on a truck that pretty much stays under 2500 rpm. If size matter please include. I'm looking for more fuction that power increase, although i know power will become a by product just as long as it is a byproduct i'm fine with it.
I know this sounds rather wierd. I just dont throw aftermarket parts at my trucks. I research and then come up with some sort of blueprint then i set out to do it. On this 6.0L the list is'nt getting anywhere. You can find threads on mods but they turn into debats and then just die. If you find a good thread on a product it doesnt include other mods that it works good with.
I've decided to stay with stock airfilter. I'm not goingto do the zoodad mod, and i'm goingto use stock turbo, i reckon everything else is game. I plan on a tuner to being last if i ever do. So this will be on a stock flash.
330-400 hp the only way i can think of doing that without a tuner being you would have to get into the motor. ported heads and a turbo upgrade......or nitrous....but why the hard way when you can just spend 450 on a sct tuner and make that?

Surely your talking rwhp? I'm not talking rwhp. I'm talking under 70 hp on the motor. That should'nt be all that hard to do. It's just getting the mods to work nice with each other. Why not just a tuner? Well i just feel at this time it is going to be a warranty issue i've got some questions nagging at me that i cant answer so it bothers me. 2nd if i can get the results i want in a more natural way then i'm fine with it even though it might cost more. Then there is the mods i'm thinking will just make the tuner more sweeter. I think the 6.0L is already an outstanding machine although i believe some of the componts might not let it be all it could be. So i'm ready to hand tune it.
I reckon i'll have to wait untell the 03-04 comes out for the elbow. I really cant decide what i want to do with the exhaust. Always on my gasers i'll made them true duals all the way out the rear with straight pipe and no muffler. Everything i've heard soundclip wise on a diesel is it has to be reved up to get the lushious tunes but then around 1500-1700rpms it just sounds like a diesel so i'm not so apt to make it a tone issue as per say a performace issue. I'm thinking 5" pipe all the way out deleting cat and muffler, but then i read that 5" is only recomended for 500+hp so now i'm thinking 4" all the way. I think i could save alot of money and just go with a true 3.5 down pipe and 3.5 all the wayout.
my mbrp 4" tb aluminized...was like 300..no need for bigger then that with a stock turbo. The 6.0 sounds like a jet plane at idle and ROARS when you stomp on it. I would get a 05-07 elbow and pitch the tb assembly in a box...
I've heard a few sound clips and wasnt all that inprest. I'm just looking for an inproved performance and if i get some good tones then so be it. All i've heard the engine had to be reved up to get the tones.
I've been thinking. It seems to me besides sound the other big difference people notice after upgrading the DT and the cat delete is lower egts. I'm just wondering if the lower egts might have something to do with the turbo failing do to the carbon buildup. I think maybe i'll just do a muffler delete.
