I want to start by replacing my carpetm do you guys no if this is a do it yourself kind of job? Do I need to take the seats out? Or can I get around it? I can buy the carpet offline, but I just dont want to get it here, and then have a huge project ahead of me. I also want to get my single cab bench seat all dont in leather. So I figured if I take the seats out to do that, maybe then would be a good time to get the carpet in there, has anyone else done this. Its on a 1995 F350
yep..Take your seats out. Your carpet will be tacked down with some adhesive, but will pull up pretty easily. You may have to take some trim pieces off and what not. If you get molded carpet, you don't have to reapply adhesive if you don't want to. Molded carpet fits pretty decent. Also, you may want to consider some type of insulation barrier underlay before you put the carpet back in...Just a suggestion. Cuts down noise nicely.
I didn't re-do my interior, but I did replace some fugly van bucket seats for a bench. It'll take 2 people to pick it up and slide it out of the truck. It wasn't hard at all, me and my dad it.
If you do take the seat out, I'm guessing that would be the perfect opportunity to swap out the carpet.
But as to tell you how to install the carpet........can't help ya there.
Yeah seems like a project, but the outside looks so nice right now, almost brand new, and when ppl open the doors, its respectable for its year, but it aint no show room in there, I have done everything from orange clean, to steam cleaning, and the rugs dont want to give in, so basically right now I have lots of FORD mats covering the grose carpet. I wonder what colors would look good for the carpet and the seats...Do you think a dark grey carpet with a black leather seats, to match the new black paint job, would match with a grey dash board, ceiling, and doorS? Or should I keep it all grey?
hmmm... sounds cool. i'd def. suggest you do some dynomatting now if you want to save on some roadnoise, exhaust sounds, etc. i work for a flooring store and simple cheap carpet pad seems to even work well. i would recommend using a little adhesive on edges. lastly, DEF. have help! at least another set of able hands, if not 2.
good advice, yeah I got a twin brother who is glued to me, I know he will help me, but sounds sweet, prob wait to summer tho to do this, I dont have much patience in 20 degree weather right now lol
Not sure what you mean, but we are best buds if thats what u mean, not literally glued together either if thats what u think, two seperate living human beings.
