I've searched for my question and could'nt find answer so here is my question. Are the mounting tabs for the 66 grill same as 64? Are the hoods inter-changeable? And will anything else on the 66 be able to be transfered to the 64?
Reason: I've scored on a 66 f100 2wd long bed unmolested with a 352 and 4 speed, minus windshield. I originally only wanted the grill but the guy would not part it out. Then I went back and told him I wanted the hood, grill and radio and he still would not part it out. He says (I haven't heard it yet) that the motor runs good and the tranny is tight and other then a little body damage to the bed it's in good condition. Well after telling him I wasn't interested in the whole truck he says "I'll make you a good deal"...... I should mention that the grill is in perfect shape the hood has a couple of dents that can be popped out easily enough.
Well the good deal is I can have it for $ 400.00 so I guess I'm buying a truck. So whats interchangeable????
Thanks guys
Grille tabs and lower painted stone deflector is the same. Upper painted grille panel is different on 65/66 because parklamps mount there. It will fit 61/64.
1961/64 upper painted grille panel is plain, without parklamps. Parklamps mount in grille-1964. It will fit 65/66
Hood and grille alone are worth the purchase price. Bill above is correct about the interchanges. The only issue I've found with the hoods is if they have emblems or moldings on them the holes may need filled or won't be where you want them. No biggie.
Since we're talking interchange here, are the Bronco and F series tail light lenses and buckets the same?
What will interchange between the two?
No, the 1965-66 F Series trucks didn't have backup lamps, and there's no provision in the lamps to add them.
The 1966-77 Broncos had backup lights. (memories fade, and I have no car parts books, where the parts are listed for all 1967-79 Broncos. It's possible that some 66-67 Bronco's didn't have backup lamps, so in that case only, you can use the 1964/66 pickup lamps).
The rear of the 66/77 Broncos are similar to 1964/66 F100/350 pickups and use the same painted bed side lamp extensions.
