6 mm. If you don't get the upgraded HFCM plug then this allen wrench is a necessity. A friend had his WIF light come on on the way home from a weekend trip. He went through two SMALL towns (on a Sunday) and drove 50 miles to get home before being able to drain. No one in these small towns had a 6 mm wrench. He had filled up with bad fuel and he was draining that HFCM for about a week until the light quit coming on.

The FMC part# in the "FordDoctor" article may no longer be good ( i have never checked the FMC part #, usually by as many parts as i can from International), most people buy the part at there local international dealer as it is cheaper than Ford and usualy always in stock. Also the Ford part# is for a 2005 or newer medium duty LCF truck, many of the Ford dealers are not heavy truck dealers and usually don't deal with heavy truck parts either. Just go to your local international dealer with the part # in my post # 6 or the same number in the article.

Hope this helps

No problem, its understandable (I was just making sure I didn't have my method of thinking screwed-up). Thanks for the info

The part number is correct... it is that this number is part of the "Blue Diamond" program and not part of the "everyday Ford parts program".

Tell them it is for a LCF medium duty truck and a special order part. They may have to check a different system or area of the Ford parts system to find and special order. My local dealer ordered it and it took 2 days to get in.

Good luck,

Forgive me if this is posted else ware, I’m new. However, does anyone have the International part numbers for the fuel filters? I bought the new plug thanks to blackhat620, and while I'm down there I might as well change the filter

Check my gallery.... look under "fuel filters" and you will see the Int'l number on the "box-top".

I went to the local Ford dealer and they did not have this part number in their database. They told me that the number was not valid. Then they called a Ford heavy truck dealer and asked for this part number (6E7Z-9C082-A). The Ford truck dealer had over 100 drain plugs in stock at $14.15. You have to go to the Ford heavy truck dealer to get them. I will try to pick mine up this weekend.

My dealer part man is an ***. He still couldn't find it, and was treating me like I was stupid for asking. I called a local IH dealer and they are getting it for me for $11

Really.... read my post #24 above... what did I type??? Just what you wrote... that it is a different "type" of truck than a regular Ford dealer truck.... I wrote "medium duty LCF truck".

Some are smart enough to look it up and others are just dumb or lazy???

Glad you got it though.
