6" backspacing too much?

Was just curious if anyone knew if a wheel with 6" bs would fit without any issues on the new f-150 with only the autospring level kit.

I am also curious about which backspacing/offset is required on these trucks. I have heard mixed things about what will work, and am more confused than when I started shopping.

I'm told the bs on the factory wheels is 5.5 inches. The wheel im looking at is a moto metal 950 18x9 and comes in 2 offsets 4.5 or 6. If I figure right (and please tell me if im wrong) with the 4.5 bs my wheels will stick out 2.5" farther than stock, and with the 6" bs only 1" farther. I just want to keep as much of my tires in the fender wheel as possible.

I was looking at the Moto Metal 951, which is a 4.5" BS and -12mm offset, which I am assuming would make the wheel stick out further, although it is listed on some websites as fitting my truck, I'm not so sure.

i have a set of weld cheyanne 6's on my truck with 4.5" backspace and *6mm offset. sticks out about 2.5 inches but doesnt look bad, i just guess it depends on what tires your'e going to run on them. i have 33x12.50 on 17's and they look great in my opinion anyways. i'll try to post some pictures in the next week so you can see what it looks like.

I would be running 33x12.50x17 also. What width are your wheels? Was that -6mm or +6mm offset? If yours are +6mm, I would think -12mm would make it stick out a ton more. Thanks.

Ok, so with a 9" wide wheel and -12mm of offset that is probably close to the same setup. Please post some pics so I can see how far that sticks out. Thanks.

Visit this web page. It will give you the answers you need.

http://www.rims-n-tires.com/rt_specs.jsp

Put in your OEM specs and the new ones. It will tell what you need to know.

The only problem is, without taking my wheel off I am not sure what the OEM wheel specs are. According to that website, anything lower than +25mm offset is too low on my truck, but I know there are people running lower offset than that.

I am running BFG 305/65/18's with MB Motoring Razor wheels. +25mm offset with 5.7" back space. I have no rub at all and they stick out about 1 inch further than OEM.
