How hard is it to replace the carrier bearing on a crew cab F350?
I crawled under the truck this morning and noticed it was a little worn.
When I grabed it, it moved around quite abit so I am assuming that it needs replaced. I checked all the u joints and they are good. How does the bearing come off?
the back half of the shaft just slides off after you cut the clamps on the rubber boot. I usually cut the bearing off with a torch and sometimes you can use an air hammer to get it off. the torch is easy if you are good with it. if you are no you can cut too much and harm the shaft.
Thanks guys finally got the bearing replaced. I needed to take it and have it pulled and pressed back on like you guys said. Thanks for the help again!!
