G-day all.
I'm just wondering about parts interchange. I got a 1987 Ranger with a 2.3
and a 5 speed standard. I would like to switch her to an automatic and possibly a bigger engine. I've been a GM fan most of my life and though I
always liked Ford trucks, I havn't owned any untill recently, and so I don't
know a whole lot about them.
I would like to know if any other parts from Explorers, Bronco II, Arostar,
and later model Rangers will fit. I'm mainly interested in drivetrain and body
parts (front clip). Any help would be great, I don't want to have to put
a small block Chev in my Ford!

Actually...you can swap quite a bit.

The 5.0L is a bolt in from the Explorer. If you can find a donor, it's one of the easiest swaps available with some time. Not too much fabricating to do at all.

Front clips are easily interchanged as long as you get everything, and for the most part, a straight up bolt in.

A LOT of Bronco II parts will fit, as will many Explorer parts. The Aerostar and Ranger have the same engine options, but not many body parts will swap.
