Hey people,
I rebuild the 302 I have in my 1983 bronco about 1500 miles ago. My lifters are still noisey, making it sound like a deseil engine and I am still have rings of smoke puff out of my exhaust. Should I be worry about this? And if not, at how many miles should I start worrying?
What color smoke? White, blue or black? Lifters did you pump them up before installation? Did you tighten the rockers all the way down till they bottomed out? Are you sure you got the right length push rods? Check your plugs for color of tips. Double check your intial timing should be 6 degrees BTDC for an 83. Hope this helps and Good Luck,
Rick
