I have a 5.0 with GT40-P heads, and there is no holes in the heads for the truck air injection crosspipe. I have to go through emmisssions, so i dont know what to do, any advice or suggestions would be much appricated
there should be plugs on the rear of those heads that can be removed to allow for the emissions equipment. do you have to pass a visual inspection or just the sniffer?
well i would like to hook it all up cuz i think im gonna have a hard time passing. But i looked at my heads and they don't have a hole in the back for the crossorer pipe, ther is no spot at all.
well i am not a fan of the P heads because of there limited header choices and weird plug angle. they are a good performer though and can be sold for a decent amount
The GHT40P heads don't have the Thermactor passages at all. The system wasn't needed with them on a 5.0 to pass emissions. Just remove the rest of the system and tell them it's an Explorer Motor.
I don't know, the Explorer setup is different from the E-F150 setup. I know there are belts for the Stang setup to allow bypassing the smog, A/C and P/S. There ought to be for the E-F 150 too. If you've got a local parts house that'll let you research stuff like this behind the counter, it's worth a try.
