No offense taken. I just wanted to add my 2 cents worth. There is a lot of knowledge out there if you just take time to listen. I have less than $7500.00 in my whole truck and love to see the look on some kids face, whos driving a $20,000 + new mustang, when a ratty old ford truck kicks his but. Eyes as big as saucers and jaw dragging the ground. Thats what its all about. LOL, Its all in the fun.

 

By the way my daily driver is a 06 ford ranger 4 cyl and auto 5 speed that gets 26 mpg. I couldnt afford to drive the BB truck every day. My other daily driver is an 06 E350 ambulance glad I dont have topay for the fuel in it.

 

Well I know just where your coming from..I have a 70 F250 that I bought as my first truck back in 72....with a 390 C6 in it..and it will be sporting a 433" FE motor and about 500hp...Just not enough hp for me but a good running truck none the less..

Its been on a slight diet..as for the last 30+ years it has carried a 13 1/2' camper on the back..so I still need to remove more suspension weight..and a few other things to try to get it down to its fighting weight..LOL.. That motor wont have but about $2000 in it tops...But I got a good buy on the short block from a friend...and it will run the ***** off alot of Jap Crap out there..and weigh 4500lbs doing it.. But thats not my street rod..or my race car..Its a daily driver ..well it doesnt have to be..but can be drivin anywhere..

But my goal is before I die..is to have a tire shreading *** kickin..streetrod again..that will scare the average man..make ladies **** in there pants and make the children run for there lives!! LOL...

I have wanted to buld an FE motor but dont know much about them. I think they will fit in a lot of aplicantions that the 429/460 wont. One of these days I would like to be able to build an unlimited budget street rod but it wont be any time soon so I will have to enjoy my budget mustang eater as is.
