460 intake what kind??

I have a f-350 I want to get rid of the emissions. I have done some research and found there are different intakes square bore, dual plane, single plane, ect... So what kind do I need or how can I look at mine and tell what I need. I have a holly carb made for motorcraft that was just put on this truck before I bought it I want to keep this carb. Do I need a spacer and if so which one there are diffrent ones of those as well. thanks for the help. scott

Lots of the guys here seem to like the Weind Stealth intakes, or the Edelbrock Performers. Your Holley should bolt right up.

If you're running a daily driver a dual plane intake would be your best option. Looking at the bottom of the carb, are the front and back throttle blades the same size? If they are the same size that is a square bore carb. If the back throttle blades are larger then you have a spread bore carb. Then comes figuring out if you need a heat riser for the choke to work. If it has a electrical or manual choke you don't need a heat riser. If your getting rid of the EGR system make sure it is a non-EGR manifold. Check out the link to get an idea. Your intake should match the cam as well. Most truck don't need more then 5500 RPM. A weiand stealth may be a bit too much for the cam.

Edelbrock makes complete set ups from just an intake all the way to intake, cam, and carb. These are in the Performers and Performer RPM series. If it is stock the Performer is a good choice. If you need a little more the Performer RPM is even better. I have been running a Weind Stealth and have no complaints but its RPM range is 2500 to 6500, a little much for a stock cam.
