Hey i need some help. Do diesels typically burn alot of oil? I noticed that My oil level is really low. And also some black smoke and my truck is not chipped. Please dont tell me my rings are BAD!
Black smoke usually comes from excess fuel. Oil smoke is grayish in color. How long does it take to go from full to low? These engines have a habit of leaking oil more than burning it.
I'm thinking oil usually shows up as blue-white smoke, but maybe that's only in gassers...
I'm relatively new to the diesel scene, and haven't come across one burning oil yet. I know they'll blow white smoke when purging air out of the fuel lines...
I got the Truck in some fresh snow and il check for oil in the morning. I had to add oil. Also im about 200 miles from an oil change. Seamed watery. Crappy oil i would say
O wait sorry, I didnt notice a gain. I noticed a Drop due to the cold temps. Im really confused rite now sorry. Im still puzzled about it. How long was what? Sorry
I used Valvoline oil, It said cummins on it. Thats prolly my problem. But it was some thick oil because i changed it at the end of fall. I think im just going to do that oil change early. And use some Full syn.
