Bought my truck new in '99. 182000 miles on her now. Change the oil and filter every 5000 miles. Always used Rotella and motocraft filter. I expect to the same for the next 180000 miles.
I hate buying more than one oil and trying to remember where it goes so I use Rottela synthetic it in my wifes 01 psd my 84 F150 with a 4.9 and my 96 Isuzu 2.2 which I drive the hell out of and I have no problems. I also use it in my riding mower and weed wacker (four stroke) The damn mower sat out all winter and started on the first try sunday, I actually did have it covered once in the fall but the goats tore up the cover in the fall. The guy next door keeps his mower in his garage and all shiny and he fights with it all the time. I buy the oil in the big jugs and like I said use it in all the engines.
I was told the other day by a diesel shop that Rotella T was the worst oil I could use in my '99 PS. This is not synthetic. He said the synthetic was okay to use. When I first got my truck I was told that Rotella T was the best to use because it did not foam and worked better on the injectors. The diesel shop said that Delo was better than Rotella T. I used Delo in my old 6.? but since Sam's carries Rotella T ...that became my reason for using it. Our Sam's does not carry the synthetic but I did see some at Walmart. Does anyone have any comments on Rotella T usage? Thanks. Texas C
Rotella no good? Ha..... One of the best dinos out there.
BS BS BS
And change to a different diesel shop where they are not so full of it.
I started using Rotella T dino when I bought my first Ford diesel in 1993! I've never had any oil related problems. Frankly, I've had very few problems of any kind with Ford trucks. And, the ones I have had have been minor. BTW, the Ford dealer recommended either their oil or Rotella T in the first place, and that's how I got started using it.
