Does the Rotella Blend and the Rotella Full Synthetic provide the same zinc amount protection as the Rotella T?
And do you recommend going to the synthetic in my 1978 F-100, 302? I am presently using the Rotella Triple T. My engine is a Jasper remanufacture and with low mileage.

My understanding is that if the engine has been rebuilt since the early 90s that it is OK to use any equivalent SFI/API-approved oil.

 

The reason you need the zinc or zddp in the oil is for a flat tappet camshaft. With I think you have unless they installed a roller cam. I use Lucas HOT ROD and classic oil made for older flat tappet engines.

 

From memory (an old Bob's the oil guy post) zinc in the synthetics is similar to standard Rotella... good for a moderate flat tappet cam.
