Honestly don't know.
Does FORD own Cummins diesel?
For me that would be tragic, only because im not a Cummins fan, and I only
have that perception coming from the days I drove long haul trucks and the
only thing a Cummins was good for was flatland driving.

no. it ain't true. don't believe anyone that tells you so, and if they insist it's true, tell them to look it up. ford had 10% of cummins stock many years ago, but sold it many years ago also.

Why questions like this are so persistent is puzzling.
Via Google or directly, you can find the web sites of just about any company worth a darn, and certainly any publicly traded company. And, there are numerous stock analyst sites available. Any one of these sites would certainly discuss ownership, as Ford would be rightly proud to own Cummins and wouldn't keep it a secret, for example. (Or, on the other hand, they would be ashamed to own it and would be seeking to sell it, as Daimler-Benz must feel about poor Chrysler...)
So forget what Joe-Bob at the U-Rob 'em convenience store says. Forget what Ralph the parts runner at the dealership says. Go direct and get it first hand, or if you must, second hand from people who trade the stock of the company involved.

This guy (not brand loyal) swears up and down that ford owns cummins and where
somehow not able to use or promote the product til like 2010-11 when some
contract that was negociated runs out. Now i call him nuts and went to the cummins
web site and the owners of cummins is Dymlier benz/ Crysler, sorry my spelling
sucks sometimes.

Where in the world did you find on the Cummins web site that Daimler Benz owns Cummins????

If Clessie Cummins was still alive, he'd be as confused over all these stupid rumors as we are.
Neither Ford nor Daimler-Benz owns Cummins.
