Even though you're correct........maybe not so good of an example.
Afterall, we had BMW powered Ford owned Land Rovers just recently...
I always get a chuckle over the old ads after Chrysler bough Sunbeam.
Touting the high performance V8 Tiger but never mentioning it was Ford powered!!!

A friend bought a 1951 Lincoln years ago, first he discovered that Lincoln used the Flathead V8 337ci truck engine, then he was amazed to discover it had Hydramatic!

ford does secretly own cummins. how do i know this? i'm the secret gm for ford's something-or-another department. ask me anything, and i'll tell you what i know. btw, my truck gets 32 mpg, on pump fuel. i'm serious! why are you guys laughing?!?
There's one thing about it though- If ford built the superduty w/ the cummins B-series you would have the ultimate light duty truck. The deisel was perfected in the I6 design not the V. I like the cornbinders V-8 but it'll never sound like that I6. Want torque, put the cylinders in a line, want hp and less vibration put 'em in a V. That's JMO though, and we all know about opinions.

This was about the same time Ford bought Jaguar, Aston-Martin, Volvo and Land Rover.

and when Renault bought the controlling share of mack, quality started going downhill. now that Volvo has bought Renault, Mack's are in the dumpster. the trucks are built so cheaply now, they spend more time in the shop than they do on the road. nothing but problems with them, and the construction company's that once were Mack's biggest buyer for combination on/off road trucks are leaving them in the dust for other brands, like Western Star, Peterbuilt, and Kenworth, with Cat power.
ahhhh Cat power,
My first Frieghtliner had a 3172 I think that what it was or what we used to call it was a 350.cat anyhow that would pull western mountains all day long and keeping up with
detroits and passin those flat land cummins
