Oh man you were at boring Loring? I'm sorry! Probably the only places worse/as bad, were whynot Minot and K.I.Sawyer where I was! I always wanted to be at McChord but no one ever got out of SAC! No One! hahaha

Hey guys...I was in the airdale Navy from 1956-1975. VF32-VF101 on east coast first half of career and at Whidbey Island second half. VA165, VA128, VAQ something for my last few months. Came by for a visit with old friends in the area this past summer and had a great time but didn't get to go on the base - time constraints. But we had a great time while in the area...parked the trailer at north end of the island at the campground just south of the bridge. Now living in Maryland, but really miss the Pacific NW. Don't know how many here were around back from 1966-1975, but I had a CB radio store while there with a partner who was also stationed there. Had to close it due to Navy commitment called sea duty!! It was called B&B CB Sales and Service....anyone remember it?

Sounds like Loring may be the Air Force version of Johnston Island....Great place if you want to be a hermit.
