Has anyone ever bought any military surplus tires? Looking to put new tires on truck and do not want to break the bank. Are these tires any good? They claim they are 90% tread. Thanks
I assume you are talking about the used Goodyear HumVee tires? There were several different ones, all in a 16.5" diameter.......the newer radial MT or MTR( i Believe?) are supposed to be a pretty good all around tire, while the bias ply Wrangler R/T ( again im doing this from memory only) had a reputation for being horrible on pavement in the rain, otherwise tough and sturdy off road. I believe that the Bias ply Wranglers were a little smaller, 36"x12.50x16.5 while the radials are a 37x12.50x16.5 size...
Cut the garage header...lol . Ok HERE IS A WORSE IDEA then do it with a chain saw thru the siding and all and really give her something to get rattled about.
Ah.... love is a gimme, but let you put in action the ideas is a complete different story. lol Price the MT/R's new and she will let you get the used ones all day long.
If shipping is out of the wallet, plan a mini toad trip from In to OKC and you can pick your tires yourself. Pass the word, get a few friends to get on board for tires also and split gas and driving duty. Put he women in the back of the EC/CC with a few barly pops and head west.

About 15 years ago the wife of one of my neighbors got to nagging him about wanting a window in their bathroom. It was an older house built during WWII, and had been remodeled at least once, but never had a bathroom window. One day she brought it up again and said something like she had been talking about it for a year and nothing had happened. He said 'wait right here' and walked out the door. A few minutes later he came back in the door with a chainsaw and asked where she wanted the window. She indicated where, he started the chainsaw, and cut a nice hole in the wall. "There's your damn window" he said and walked out the door. He did eventually install a window frame and glass.
