started smoking.
Well guys, not to sure what to think on this one. Fired the truck up yesterday for the first time in a week. I let her idle for five or ten minutes. Noticed that it was'nt really smoking like it usually does. Temp around here was about 12 degrees. Anyway, I had her about up to operating temp when I had to get on it pretty hard to get into traffic. Stopped at the bank 1/2 mile up the road and smoke was just pouring out of the tailpipe. It was white, maybe whiteish blue. It smelled like burnt oil. At this point I checked gauges and everything looked fine so I let it idle when I went into the bank. It smoked like this for a good ten minutes. Then when I left my buds house last night all appeared fine. The truck only has 121k on it. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated. Even though it stopped I'm not the kind of guy to be satisfied with that. I want to know what happened and make sure it does'nt do it again. Sorry for the long post I just wanted it to be detailed. Thanks

Sure would like to know myself. Mine is doing the same thing, but only on the first mile or two I drive it. It's in the 40's and 50's here so it can't be temp. seems like we are getting oil, fuel or both stored up somewhere and then either burning it or dumping it out the pipe. What are the causes of this? I've only got 124,000 on mine, and well maintained by CAT mechanic ( previous owner )
