leaking from vent hose

leaking from vent hose

i have a 1986 f250 with a 400 c6 1345 bg tranfer case. just recently i notice i am having alot of spraying coming from the vent tubing on the transfer case. this is getting all over my floor inside. does anyone know what my problem is and what steps i can follow to fix it. thank you.

Take the upper fill plug out, and see if fluid comes out. It may be overfilled. It should be level with the bottom of the fill hole.

ok i know when i had a bad rear out put seal on the transfer it leaked fluid real bad and took it from the transmission, i replaced the seal and filled the tranny back up to specs, but i will check that out. thanks

make sure your case isn't all full of water, that'll make it seem overfull and spray out the vent.

i checked my tranfer case and its full past the fill plug, but what im not under standing right now is why is my fluid from the transmission keep going into my transfer case and causeing it to have too mauch and not enogh in the transmission. what is causing this. thank you
