77 F150 VIN decode
Here's another for the number guys...I think I have most of it, just some questions on the axle code. Here goes...
F15BUY67000
Model Year: 77
Series: F150 - 4x2 Pickup
Engine: 6 Cyl, 300ci (4.9L) 1bbl
Assembly Plant: Louisville
Transmission: 3 spd, Manual, Ford
Body: Jade vinyl bench seat /styleside bed
This is as it looks on the tag
WB Color Type/GVW Body Trans Axle
133 B F150 AR4 C 47J
Max GVWR LBS
06050 1977 55
Heres the problems I am having...the axle code I cannot find the tag reads 47J
I am assuming that the J is for power steering....but the 47?

133" wheelbase - regular cab, 8ft bed.
B - Dark Jade Metallic exterior paint
F150 - 6050 GVW
AR4 - (A)- Vinyl Custom bench (R)-Jade color interior (4)-Styleside pickup
C - Ford "Three on the tree" 3spd manual transmission
47 - Are you sure it's 47? I can't find 47.
J - with Power Steering
6050 - GVW again. 1977 - model year. 55 - St. Louis (where the truck was shipped to)

I have looked everywhere for a code 47 without success.
Even this chart doesn't show it.

Crawl under the truck and check for an Axle tag on the diff stud.

47 = 3.07-1 .. Dana 44-3 non locking 3.3M

Code 47 was only used in 1977.
