F350 helper spring question
I have a 1974 F350 10,000lb GVW. My helper spring is only 1 leaf. All of the others I have seen are multi leaf. My main stack is 10 high.
Should my truck have more than just a mono leaf helper?
It was of course a cab and chasis when purchased new. When I bought it, it was a tow truck.
Who knows if any one changed the springs.

I've got a couple of F350s that have the single leaf, and have never seen any with more.
BTW a common wrecker mod is to weld a piece of 2" square tube to the tabs the helper spring hits under load, so the helper is always almost touching. Cuts don down squatting when towing heavy vehicles.
Congrats on a tough truck. F350s are good machines.
