I was wondering if anyone knows of a kit to remove the A/C. I know they make several different kits for the mustangs, but I dont know if they would fit on my 92 bronco 5.0 engine. Any help you can give me would be great. :-)
I've removed the condensor (in front of the radiator), the hoses under the hood, and the compressor. I had a heck of a time finding a Ford dealer who could find the parts for the Idler pulley in their computer.
What I wound up doing was finding a "municipal" F-150 in a junkyard with a 5.0 (belonged to one of the local water districts - they tend to buy stripped vehicles) and got the idler off that. Straight bolt in job. I think the part number is visible on the mount. If you want I'll see if I can dig it out.
I got rid of my A/C on the 85. Kept getting in the way when working on anything. I live in Oregon so don't need it much. The system wasn't charged so I just pulled off anything that got in the way,(covered up the fittings in case I wanted to hook it back up.)
I heard a story once about a bunch of HVAC guys going camping. One of them used Freon to fill the air mattrass in the tent. Mattrass leaked, Freons heavyer than air, settled to the bottom of the tent and almost killed him.
Thanks alot for the info. If its not a pain in the butt, could you grab those numbers off the tensioner for me? That would be great. Also is there anything I need to know when disconnecting all the A/C components? Is there anything I have to watch out for? Thanks again.

Didn't seem to be anything really difficult as re: removing the A/C.
Mine had lost it's charge and you really don't need it up here in the Northwest but maybe 1 week a year
The part number off the idler pulley bracket is FDTA-19A216-AA.
I believe that is for the whole assy with the serpentine belt pulley.
Thank you very much. I am picking up the bracket and pulley today, and getting rid of all that extra crap taking up space in my engine bay. Thanks a ton!
