Well got the B2 up and going again, and ive noticed when i apply the brakes the beast pulls kinda hard to the left/driver side. What causes this type of nuisance?
Mechanical problem in the brakes, Lockout issues (if 4WD, especially if you have auto hubs), problems with tires (properly inflated?), loose steering/suspension components, any number of things.
Could be the brakes, could be worn parts in the steering. The most infamous first-to-wear-and-break part on the steering on the BIIs and Rangers is the drag link, which ended up being part of a similar problem on my '86 Ranger. Could be just a "dirty" rotor contributing as well.
Could also be the front wheel bearings. One side on mine is a little too tight, I'm thinking... but it pulls a little most of the time, not just on braking. To test the calipers, jack up the front end and spin the tires by hand. They should turn a few revolutions then stop on their own. If one doesn't, or takes longer, then it may be culprit. You can re-check with a second person and get both tires going (or put it on jack stands) and put it in 4 low (if it's a 4x4 model...) and 1st gear and let it idle and then push on the brake pedal to see if one stops before the other. One of them is either dragging too hard or not working properly at all. Hope this helps.
