Shop/Engine Manual
Hey guys, what shop or engine manuals do you have for your 6.9 diesels? I just gt my '85 f-350 6.9 tuesday and need to get a shop manual for it so i know what i'm doing without too much trouble. What brand should i go with, Chilton? any suggestions?

the best shop manual to get would be a ford service manual for the 85 model year trucks.
the haynes book is a generic books for a wide variety of years.
and i have seen so many mistakes in both the haynes and chiltons books that i consider both of them a waste of money.

I agree. I have both the Haynes and chiltons for my truck, both provide little info other than the basics. The Haynes is probably a little better. I finally found someone on E bay selling the Ford shop manuals for my 89, got the complete set for $43. Of course it took a few months of looking every few days or so before I found them.

Helms if you can afford it, i understand they print the factory books. i've used them and they're very thorough, esp. for troubleshooting

Thanks for your input guys, looks like i'll be buying some ford shop manuals...any idea where to get them other than ebay?
