Thank you for your response,do you have any idea of how much that would cost to fix? Or is this something a friend and I could tackle? How hard is it to do? Thanks again.
redford maybe right and then he maybe wrong. Seeing how you are inexperienced in mechanical matter, I would suggest find a local independent mech or good friend that truly understand car mechanics and have them take a look. To shotgun and dive into a steering box change might not solve your problem.
Thanks again for all the responses, yes it's a 4x4,and I took it to someone and they couldn't figure it out.The truck has 109,600 miles on it, and it still runs strong. The problem is annoying, but drivable. If I'm in a right hand turn, while driving, and I let go of the wheel,it keeps going right, till I just turn the wheel left about an inch of a turn. It's my first Ford and I love it,just can't wait till I figure this out. Thanks again, Luv this forum.
Chk the front ball joints,The way is to disconnect the tierod ends and put a bolt through the tierod hole then use a torque wrench to turn the steering knuckle.
If the ball joints are binding and sticking it will show up.There is a spec on the amount of torque it takes to turn the knuckle.
If the ball joints are orignal ,with that many miles there due.
