Has anyone tried a Helix Power Tower throttle body spacer. Its claims horsepower gains up to 20hp. Im trying to get more out of the stock 302. I have a K&N, high flow cat, and exhaust, and was wondering if this would help out.
If you are getting 13mpg city or even overall, you are doing good.
There is nothing that you can bolt on that is going to improve that. Ford has already provided computerized ignition and fuel injection. As you have already found out, K&N and exhaust mods don't make any difference at low rpm. The problem is that a 302 is a short stroke car engine and torque comes in at too high of an rpm for your gearing. A cam or gearing change might help, but at a cost possibly higher than any fuel savings over time.
Something real cheap that you might try is Mobil One fluid in the rear diff. It may make a difference if you live in a cold climate and/or do a lot of short trip driving. Also, be sure to keep tire pressures up.
