What have I done?

So, I changed my oil on my 04 6.0 w/ 88k miles on it today. The truck has been great since bought new. It has had a hanging drip just in front of the oil pan since day one. While I was under there today I noticed a lot more oil more towards the front of the engine. Didn't make a real big deal of it. Anyway, refilled with about 13.5 qts like always to bring it to about half way up cross-hatches on dipstick. Drove up to carwash and coincidentally looked under truck and saw oil running out. I drove home slowly, about 1/4 mile and parked. Oil all over the place, down the street, in the driveway. Oil pressure still reading normal. Opened hood. Oil all over around oil filter cartridge. All over in general. Looked like it was running out of the big exhaust pipe that feeds back into the turbo. Now like a half hour later it looks like it's largely dried up. I changed the fuel filter at the same time today. Wondering if it's fuel mixed with oil. Blown injector? Any ideas? I'm freakin' out. Guess all I can do is tow it to the dealer tomorrow.

Check the seal on the filter housing. I caught the o-ring in the threads and lost alot of oil.
BTW, I had it towed to the dealership to find this out. At least the 3/36000 picked up the towing...

you said out of the exhaust pipe. if you are sure, then the turbo oil seal has blown. you can drive it, but no for long and far because it will steadily pump oil out.

I read this link and saw a number of bulletins that had to do with known leaks.

fuel leak

Well, I think it's fuel now. When I turn the key on, without starting engine, it starts leaking all over the place.

Well, this morning once I could see better, I realized I kinked up the rubber o-ring on the small fuel filter under the hood, and it was spewing fuel all over. I replaced the gasket and no more leak. I feel like a dummie, but I'm extremely relieved it wasn't serious. Thanks for your suggestions.

We've all learned some things the hard way. Glad you got it fixed without a trip to the Service Department.
