What do you think, 325/65R18s on stock steel 18" wheels? They come out to 35.91x12.79R18. 9" wide wheels are recommended, but... I'm wondering if they'll bulge too much or will it look ok.
It's either that for an out the door price of $1,239 w/ BFG ATAs or I'll have to pick up some wheels and go with the 315/70R17 (34.36x12.4R17) for an out the door price of $926. It would only cost me ~$137 more for 17" tires and wheels than 18" tires alone if I paid ~$450 for wheels. I was thinking of going with the Eagle 186 in 17x9 if I went the new wheels route. I'd rather go with the 325s because they're almost 36". Is that too big for an F350 w/ a 2.5" leveling kit like mine? It doesn't seem like it would be.
I've seen them run before. They actually look pretty good. If you look at the spec charts you'll see that the 18x8 is 1 inch narrower than recommended for the 325/65-18 as well as the 17x7.5 is 1 inch too narrow for the 315s.
Mine fit great. I run lower pressures when empty to even out treadwear and have 33k miles on the 315s now. I am keeping my fingers crossed for 40k.
They'll fit fine, and I think you'll find the tires are more in the 34.5-34.7 in range. I've even seen em on stock trucks so your leveling kit will look awesome.

I run the BFG AT 305/65/18 and they are the perfect look that I wanted. I felt the 325 stuck out too much but that was my opinion.
That's great news customz. I'm itching to pull the trigger on this one and get rid of the stupid, pos, junk, irritating Contijunk tires... Did I mention these things are useless on anything other than pavement....? I'm just having a hard time with the $1,290 bill...I just realized I wrote down the wrong number. You were right. They're only 34.63" tall. I'd love to find a 35 that's a little narrower. Maybe 11.5 or so.
Wedge, It looks like you're running them on a 150 aren't you? I'd rather compare apples to apples.
If you go to superdutyheadquarters.com and look at the lifted trucks you'll see a couple wearing the 325s. You may need to look in the pre-04 gallery and look for the Harley Davidsons running 18x8s.
Thanks for the pics guys. Now that I realize the 315/70R17s are basically the same height, but narrower I'm really torn. It will cost me almost the same to get wheels and tires in 17 and it will save me cash the next time I buy tires. I'll be able to get 17x9s if I go that route. I was looking at the Eagle wheels on ebay and figured for $450 delivered I couldn't go wrong. Then I started thinking about back spacing. When you buy an 186 Eagle wheel with the 8x170 bolt pattern, it looks like the back spacing is always +2. I don't want to wind up with wheels sticking out from under my fenders. Is that basically what stock is? I'm going with 35s, now it's just deciding on the wheel diamter...
