These are what I put on my Ex. Thet ride great, there E rated and handle great in the snow or rain, aggressive look, and rated really well. I boughtt them from Discount Tires Direct. I paid $125.00 each and it included free shipping.
Welcome, what size? 2wd/4wd? I now have pro-comp All Terrains on, they are E and have a 50k warranty, I am real happy with them
Pickupman, How did your Pro Comps feel when you got them? I put them on my pickup and they felt kind of soft and squirrely as compared to the Steeltex that were on befeore when i bought it used. I am also a little disappointed in the wear, but they are very good in the snow and mud.
My 2 cents - I have the BFG's T/A and they are the worst winter tire I've had on anything. I even get some hyrdoplaning in heavy rain. But I pulled a 3500lb broken boat on it's trailer out of the water and across a sandy beach up to my axles in sand without getting stuck. The tires on the trailer were up to their axles in sand as well and the trailer wheels weren't turning.
Sand, BGF's are ok. Snow & rain, I wouldn't recomend.
They feel great, however, they are 315/75/16, so they are wide, on 10" rims, but they are great so far, I have about 10k on them and they tow the toy hauler great, nice and quiet, I rotate them about every other oil change or when I get the opportunity, so I try for 5-6k rotating. I think the first drive up the hill once I put them on they had the new tire squirrlies, but since then they have done great. They are SUPERB in the snow and rain, and light mud (front and back yard mud) I wouldn't get into the deep stuff with them.
We were up at Tenaya for our Christmas party, and it snowed like a big dog, at least a foot or better, drove right out the lot and down the hill, only slipped when I wanted it to (donuts are SO MUCH FUN in the snow!!)
I am a former REVO lover... I have aprox 36K miles on the tires and have a remaining tread depth of 6/32. (new tread depth was 16/32) This winter the tires have been terrible in snow and wet roads.. I was forced to use 4WD in instances that were embarrassing.. My wife's saturn with traction control was a more stable vehicle in snow/slush! I am still in denial over how well my son's Accord has performed with blizzacks all around!
In my opinion, the REVO's cost too much to have this kind of performance... Perhaps I expected too much? I look for others recommendations as I research my next tire purchase..
I put 285/75/16 bfg at's on my 4x4 2003 x and love them I went up one size and with D rated tired to smooth the ride out some I only lost about 150# a tire on load rating from the E rated. rides and handles great. I have 25 thousand miles on them and very little wear. I also tow a 10,000lb travel trailer with no porblems.
