Rear wheel bearing grease or no grease

I have a 78 f250 4x4 with dana 60 rear end. Are you suppose to pack the rear wheel bearings with grease or are they supposed to get lubed from the rear end gear oil?

My '76 factory manual says pack 'em. It keeps them lubed until the diff. fluid is flowing out to the ends of the axle.
Good luck. I'lll be doing mine next weekend.
