On my 06 expy there is a sat. button on the radio but whenever i ask the dealer about it I get a blank stare. Anyone know how to hook a sirius directly up to the radio.
Yes you can. You have 2 options. 1, you can buy a factory Sirius kit. I bought mine from here. Or you can buy one of the aftermarket radios and use a PIE adapter to connect it thru an auxillary input on the factory radio. And for both factory or aftermarket solutions, there are differences depending whether or not you have the rear DVD.
I believe you have to buy an additional harness to interface with the DVD system. I would suggest calling them to make sure you get what you really need for your Expy. The part number for mine is 4068598. This is for the audiophile system with rear DVD. It came with everything needed to add the Sirius.
Bear in mind that if you use the SAT button to feed the sattelite signal directly into the radio, you can't use the SAT and DVD in dual-play mode. You have to use an FM modulator to feed in the sattelite signal if you want to listen to Sirius while the kiddies are watching a DVD.
AHH HAA finally the answer I knew all along. What a pain in the ***. The kid and mom watching a movie in the back. I am trying to listen to the SAT radio. In the end all of us had earphones during our trip. Mine were from my MP3 player.
