53 F100 start button did not want to work

My 53 still has the original type ignition switch with the start button on the left. I went to start it to move it and it did not start. I had radio and everything else. I messed with it turning the ignition on and off and trying the start button each time. It finally started. Is the button going bad or the ignition?

I would guess it's a bad ground at the switch if the 53's are wired ground seeking .
