disabling keyless remote and alarm
I bought a used 99 F-150 and the alarm system was always balky. I finally just took the remote off my keychain and when it won't start I push the button under the dashboard. Lately it has been "chirping" now and then while driving. I have been unsuccessful in deactivating anything using the manual. Does anyone know how to simply disable the whole system? Thanks.

Your best bet is to find a local dealer that sells the same make as your alarm, they should be able to rip it out quickly, however most places will charge for a 1 hour minimum, about $60.00.

My alarm has a fuse just off the battery. I've disabled my alarm by pulling that fuse. Makes it more convenient if/when you're pulling the battery cable on/off. It prevents the alarm from going off when you hook up the battery cable(s).
