Hi all, sorry for what may be a simple question, but I couldn't find exact info on a forum search.
My brother-in-law has a '95 F350 4x4 and he's currently running an Edge Evolution tuner that I think has 3 settings like stock, tow and performance. Unlike some of our tuners on the 6.0L side where we can select a different tune while driving down the road, he has to stop, turn off, plug in, change the tune and start back up.
Is there a tuner that has the capability to change tunes "on-the-fly", or are all tuners for that version of 7.3L the type where you do the "shut down, reprogram, startup with the new tune" type setup?
I see info on the multi-position tuners like the DP tuner, but wasn't sure how they operated, ie...how do you change tunes?
ditch the tuners all together and get a Dp-tuner chip. you can get up to 15 positions on one chip and all you do is hit a buttom or turn a **** to change the program. I don't think any tuners for 7.3 are shift on the fly but I have never used any of them so I don't know.
But a chip from dp-tuner or tony wildman will be much better for power and useablility for the truck
Thanks for the info. Sounds like DP is the way to go, but if I'm reading it right, you still can't change programs "on-the-fly" as you drive down the road, right?
What's the procedure for changing to another program level on the DP chip? Shut down , move the switch and power back up?
